Lagalag: Catarman, Northern Samar

Having no second thought, despite what people tells me about this place, I flew to this enchanting part of Visayas. My one week travel to Visayas started in Catarman, Northern Samar.
Embarking on a flight bound to Catarman, packed with courage and prayers, I peacefully landed on this place. According to some, this place is known for kulam or mangkukulam. Like if they don’t like you or you have done something against them, you will be cursed by means of putting something on your drink or food.
But, I totally disagree with this.  Debunking the myths of naysayers, Catarman people is friendly and courteous. As a living evidence, I managed to come back here in Manila healthy and tidy.
Catarman offers a unique summer getaway. From rock formations (Biri Island), historical places (Capul Church) and white sands (Alen and UEP White Beach).

I paid a visit to Catarman Cathedral (Our Lady of Anunciation).

After visiting this place, 15 minutes away from the city is the famous UEP White Beach!  But what is UEP?
University of Eastern Philippines is Catarman’s UP Diliman. It is an open University for public that it is declared as a small town near the city proper.
But what makes this town unique is that, they have their own beach.

Facing the Pacific Ocean, UEP White Beach is a must see place to visit.

The entrance fee is P 15.00 only and sometimes it is for free.
You can reach this place by means of tricycle (P10.00 per head). It is 15 minutes away from the city proper.
