Panapos: Prusisyong Bayan ng Marikina

  The Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of the Abandoned held a traditional Panapos as the official closing ceremony for Flores de Mayo. The said event attended by hundreds of Marikeño piety. Together with the Virgin of Marikina, are the Patrons and Patroness of six barangays under the umbrella of Nuestra Señora delos Desamparados.

The ceremony commenced with Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Reynante Tolentino, Vice Rector of Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish. During his homily, he insisted that the Imahen (image) of Mama Mary (OLA) must be reverred, must pay earnest respect. Also, he metioned the importance of the images owned by some camareros that it is not intended for display and treating imahen as barbie doll. He also mentioned that Mama Mary (and other images) are not intended for self-interest, for profit and for personal advantage.
  After the thanks giving mass, the procession started at the patio. Gracing the streets of Marikina City, here are the photos of Patrons of six barangays:
