The very greeting “Hail!” signals that a special moment is about to happen to Mary and her people Israel that awaits the promised Messiah. Gabriel tells that she will bear a son. But who is this child?
The angel proclaims to Mary a word about the Son of God. She listens intelligently, accept in faith, and utter her word, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word!”
When there is an opportunity that is singular, with distinction, a privilege that presented and offered to us, how can we say “No?” most of the time, we are too picky when it comes to the things being presented or offered to us. May it be a job offer, a food to eat, a place to sleep or a clothes to wear. Much more, we are clamouring for a greater opportunity, an offering that is too high.
God’s plan is a great plan. It is a singular and distinct offer that no one should decline. Everyone of us has a unique set of plans given by God. When we say ‘Yes’ to His plan, without if’s and but’s, that’s the sweetest favor we can give back to Him.
